Inspired by the opportunity to make an impact in the local community, BPG established its outreach program, Dare to Dance, in the fall of 2011. The purpose of this program is to provide after-school instruction in dance and creative movement. While the program was stopped during COVID it has been brought back as of 2024. Currently, we work with the Rochester Academy Charter School and School 35 in the local Rochester community. The program meets weekly throughout the semester for four to eight weeks of instruction. Through this program, BPG has worked with a variety of students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

As a performing arts group, it is very rewarding to see the impact of arts education firsthand. Dance can be an instrumental tool in awakening the senses and building emotional intelligence. Furthermore, it can serve as a form of communication while strengthening community diversity. We can't wait to see what the future holds as the Dare to Dance program continues to grow!
